One important difference: JPG does not support transparency. Any transparent areas in your PNG are filled with white before conversion.

What happens to transparency?
JPG has no transparency channel. Transparent areas are filled with white, so a PNG logo with a transparent background will get a white background.
How much smaller will the file be?
For photographs, often 70–95% smaller. For flat graphics with text, the saving is smaller and quality may drop more noticeably — PNG is often better for those.
What quality should I choose?
85 is a good default for most purposes. Lower values make smaller files with more visible artifacts.
